#1: Cicero Coffee Company: The Envy of All Ancient Greeks and Romans

The great orator, Cicero, was not one to be modest.  Cicero knew that he was the "man" and quite frankly, he was probably right based on the number of towns and cities in the United States named after him.  Another great orator, Demosthenes, put rocks in his mouth to improve his speech impediment.   To me, a mouthful of rocks does not sound appetizing at all.  Demosthenes might have swallowed a few in his day, but who knows.  I can almost guarantee that he did not enjoy the taste of these rocks as they entered his esophagus and entered the world of non-digestion.  Although this has nothing to do with Cicero the man, I reference it to make a point.   My point is that the Cicero Coffee Company in Cicero, Indiana offers breakfast and lunch that taste nothing like rocks.  This is a very good thing.  The Cicero Coffee Company has no reason to be modest.  The food is great.  Compared to rocks, I'd even say it is amazing.

During my visit to the Cicero Coffee Company, I decided to reenact the great Demosthenes and order Cindy Loo Hoo's Smothered Eggs.  That is a mouthful... and it is hard to say ten times quickly as well.  This order consists of a split buttermilk biscuit stacked with two sausage patties, two fried eggs, and drowned in delicious homemade sausage gravy.  Do not order this if your doctor has a +/- bet on how many days you have left on this Earth.  This is a hearty breakfast and hard to finish, but well worth it.

My wife, on the other hand, went dainty and ordered the half order of pancakes.  These beautifully made pancakes were dusted with the right amount of powdered sugar on top.

Short stack of pancakes and syrup.

As well as breakfast, the Cicero Coffee Company offers baked goods, various coffees, lunch specials items like chicken panini, a classic Rueben, or even a locally raised elk burger. The Cicero Coffee Company is open for breakfast and lunch 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM Monday through Friday and opens at 8:00 AM on Sat-Sun and closes at 2 as well.  Located on highway 19 in Cicero, Indiana just a few minutes north of Noblesville.  Drop by for a visit.  Tell them INDY Bitez sent you.  Forget that, they will just look at you weirdly if you do that.
